Paul Smith, the PA fire chief who called Steelers coach, Mike Tomlin, “a no-good n*gger” has apologized by saying he’s “embarrassed” and was just upset that his team didn’t stand for the anthem. This is always the excuse when people get caught expressing their hateful, racist, bigoted views. We need to start taking people at their word—not at their prepared apology.

  1. Oops. The NFL won’t fire Tomlin, and rightfully so. But that Fire Chief better start cleaning up his resume. There’s no reason or explanation for such divisive speech in the fire service. You’re Fired!

  2. Typical that the first thing a racist bigot says is about about his own feelings, his embarrassment. Apologies don’t fix racist hatred.

  3. We are ALL unconscious Racists. Some of us are more capable of being conscious when we act, or speak. Some of us can self-censor. But if we live surrounded by CONSCIOUS Racism (say, behind the Thin Blue Line), it is dangerously easy to speak our own “alternative truth.”
He just happened to be on the downwind side of his own s**t-fan.

  4. I have never seen in my life so much racial divisiveness in this country. Thanks to agent orange he is really exposing those closet racist.

  5. I automatically know the apology will follow soon, it’s like flies on shit, you know they are going to climb all over it before you say anything or look at the process in disgust, the flies have swarmed.

Well disgusted is how I feel about apologizes that don’t mean shit and are only given when you get caught and it’s about to affect your job/and or lifestyle. Hell, he used the N word, so this feeling or comment has been on the tip of his tongue for awhile, he meant it, and I betcha he does not even have one Black friend he could have ran that thought by before posting. #carryon
